The Roo’s traveled to Brewer Bear country last night. The Jv team lost 2-1, but gave them a scare after being down 2-0 in the first half. With ten minutes remaining Gabriel Martinez out in a header off a corner kick from Rudy Saldivar. Then we had several chances to tie the game late, but came up Empty.
Good thing it was cold because the varsity game was a nail biter. After a scoreless half, the Roos were awarded a penalty kick, but it was saved by their keeper. The bears got on the board 5 minutes later to take a 1-0. The Roos had numerous chances to tie up the game, but couldn’t find the net. Final 1-0 Brewer. The Roos are off until after the break when they play in the GCISD TOURNAMENT.
I was really proud of attitude and effort from both teams.
