This Week in Roo Basketball

The Roos had another busy week as we played in Granbury on Tuesday and then traveled Thursday through Saturday to the Decatur Invitational.
It was a great week of basketball with some ups and downs. The week started with The Roos going 1 and 2 in Granbury with a lone win from the Freshman Boys as the Freshman won by 15. The JV lost a close battle losing by 9 and the Varsity had a tough matchup falling behind early and losing by 15 points. The game had lots of ups and downs but found the Roos down by 22 at half and then battling back in the second half as they took care of the ball and fought but just couldn’t stop the hot shooting Pirates.

The Week ended with a pretty good showing at the Decatur Invitational as the Program won 5 games and lost a couple of really close games to some quality opponents. The Freshman team went 3-0 winning against Denton Ryan, Fossil Ridge, and Eaton’s B Team. The JV played some of its toughest opponents as they lost a close battle against Decatur battling back from 22 down at half to only lose by 6. They also lost a tough matchup against a very talented Keller Timbercreek and a hot shooting Celina team.
The Varsity saw some great competition as well as they lost tough matchup to a talented Barbers Hill team and a 1 point loss to Host School Decatur. The Roos found their winning ways as they beat the LG Pinkston Eagles by 15 and won a closely contested battle by 2 against Wichita Falls Old High. All in all it was another great week of challenges and experiences.

We will move on to next week as we travel to Bridgeport to take on the Bulls starting with JV at 6:15 followed by the Varsity at 7:30. Then will play host to the Cleburne Yellowjackets on Friday starting with the Freshman team playing at 3:30, followed by the JV at 5:00 and then finishing out the night with the Varsity at 6:30.
