ROOS BATTLE AT BOSWELL

The Weatherford Roos continued District play with a trip to Boswell on Tuesday Night. The night saw a hard fought group of young men competing to the very end of their games. The night started with the JV boys playing a very talented, athletic big Boswell team and keeping it close most of the night was finally outmatched toward the end of the game. The JV Roos fought hard keeping the game close at halftime only trailing by 7 and only 9 by the end of the 3rd quarter. The game ended with Boswell going on a small run and finishing out the game with a 49-32 Win over the Roos. Some standouts from the game were Hyatt McKinley with 5 Points and Caleb Heirmann with 6 points and several steals led the way. The JV Roos are now 2-2 in District Play and will play host to Trinity on Friday at WHS starting at 5:00 PM.

The Freshman would get things turned around in the next game. The Roos started slow trailing by 4 at the end of the first Quarter and by 3 at halftime. But after a blistering start in the 3rd quarter and great defensive efforts the Roos found themselves pulling away late in the 4th quarter to win a very well contested 52-48 game. Great Defense led by Micah Moore and timely rebounding by Asher Feriend led the team this afternoon. The Freshman team is now 4-0 in District Play and will host Trinity on Friday at 6:30 PM.

The Night came to an end when the Varsity Boys took the court against a very talented Boswell team. Boswell coming in to the game and playing some of the best ball in district was a very formidable foe. Big, Strong, fast, and athletic was a recipe of struggle from the Roos from the start. The team although struggling in the first half found some energy in the second half and kept fighting to the very end of the game. The Roos are now 1-3 in the Young District season and look to bounce back against a very athletic Trinity Trojans team on Friday. Some standouts were Keats Bohannon who had 6 points and 6 Boards and Jaylin Smith with 8 Points and 7 Boards.
