District for the boys started on Tuesday at home vs. North Crowley. The Jv Roos lost a tough opener 4-0. They will be looking forward to a rematch next time.
The Varsity game was another story. After a 0-0 half the Roos struck first when Gabe Martinez rocketed a shot off the post and Kaden Massey put in the rebound to go up 1-0. The Panthers tied up the game 10 minutes later to even up the score 1-1. Then Kaden Massey got free on a breakaway with the keeper to take a 2-1 lead. With nine minutes left the panthers slid one in on a corner kick to even the score at 2-2 . The Roos then won the game with 4 straight Penalty kicks made by Tyler Partain, Kaiden Massey, Ethan Mauldin, and Matias Villalobos. Juan Perez and Arturo Rocha we’re solid in the net for two big stops.
Final score was Weatherford 3 North Crowley 2 in Pk’s as the Roos stormed the field. I’m pretty sure Mr.Herring listened to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” after the Roos beat his alma mater on his way home. Go Roos!
