The Lady Roo softball team wrapped up district play Friday night with a 4-0 victory over Haltom to finish district as the #2 seed with a 12-2 record and a season record of 20-8. 3 pitchers combined on a 1 hit shutout, with Sarah Crews throwing 3 innings and striking out 8 of the 9 batters she faced, Lauren Belles throwing 3 innings and striking out 5, and Gabby Montanez pitching the final frame and striking out 1. Morgan Skold and Landry Fonseca led the offense with 2 hits each, Hanna Bartels and Kayleigh Cassels both had doubles, and Hannah Reed, Mikayla DeMichele, and Sarah Crews also had base hits in the game. The Lady Roos will open the playoffs this Thursday at 7 pm at home vs Byron Nelson, Friday at Byron Nelson at 7, and Sat at home at noon if necessary.
