Your Running Roos sprinted into the season last night on a hot hilly course in Haltom known as "The Buff ."
In the first race of the night junior Rayla Castillo represented her Lady Roos by pulling away from the pack at the 1 mile mark and never looking back. She placed 1st with a time of 12:33. Junior Cheyanne Gorman was not far behind placing 3rd in the power packed field with a time of 13:26.

In the guys race Kellen Jones ran with the top pack represented by teams such as 2021 state runner up Argyle and ended up in 6th place with a time of 11:13. Kris Martinez came away with a medal as well.

On the JV level the girls placed 3rd and the JV boys placed 2nd behind Argyle. Standout runners were Rafael Ordonez (3rd) and freshmen Daniel Brown (4th).

We will be back in action next Thursday morning in Crowley.
