Cross Country from Saturday

Your Weatherford Cross Country team opened their season on Saturday in Haltom at the "Birdville Early Bird Two Miler." Our varsity girls tied for 2nd place overall as a team. Individually Rayla Castillo placed 4th, Remi Boone 7th, and Makayla Kopacz 12th.

The Varsity Boys placed 2nd overall as a team. The Roos ran well as a pack and Josh Gal, Braxton, and Riley Starling placed 9th, 10th, 11th respectively. Rafael Ordonez and Kris Martinez followed within 30 seconds of them to secure that 2nd Place finish.

We continued the good performances with the JV Girls, placing 2nd overall as a team. Nayelli Ordonez led the team with a 2nd place individual finish. A Roo Mob made up of Mia Saldivar, Paige Blake, Stella Adams, and Brylee Henderson finished 14th - 17th respectively. The JV boys took 3rd overall as a team. Erick Ibarra led the way and Daniel Brown was just a few spots behind him.

The Cross Country team will compete this Saturday in the Byron Nelson Invitational.
