Cross Country results for Burleson Centennial “Spartan” Invitational

Your Running Roos competed in the Burleson Centennial Spartan Invitational Saturday morning and anytime a course says “Welcome to the Green Monster”, you know it’s going to be a tough course!
Your varsity girls started the morning off by winning their 3rd straight meet with the top six in the lineup. Rayla Castillo, Remi Boone, and Macayla Kopacz were all top 10 performers with Cheyanne Gorman placing 12th and Nayelli Ordonez and CJ Madrid finishing out the team.
The varsity boys placed 2nd out of 14 teams and had 2 top 10 performers. Braxton Boyer placed 7th and Riley Starling placed 9th. Kris Martinez, Kelan Bush, and Josh Gal rounded out our points for the race.
Our second team champion of the day were the JV Girls. Sofia White, Madison Pulis, Mia Saldivar, and Paige Blake finished 4,5,6, and 8th respectively with Brilee Collins having a standout day to secure the team championship. This was their best team effort of the year!
The most dominant race of the day was our JV Boys division. They accumulated only 28 points by having 5 top 10 performers while winning the Roos their 3rd team championship of the day. Gerardo Miranda, Tug Scott, Milo Proctor, Tony Gorman, and newcomer Jett Hendrix finished 2,4,5,7, and 10 respectively. Erick Ibarra, Tate Nobis, and Saul Saldivar all finished well placing in the top 20 out of 161 runners.
Your Running Roos will run compete next Saturday in the “Reunion Run” held behind Wise County Fair Grounds in Decatur.
